Positive aspects of this sauna (pros):
Friendly Staff, intresting layout
Negative aspects of this sauna (cons):
little bit used..needs a bit of a tart up
Overall i found this sauna good value for money, it is in a location then is easy to get to (close to DLR station) and the layout is very intresting. I have been on two occasions so far, the first was early evening, and the second was with a friend at lunchtime! Both times i had lots of fun!
The ground floor has a very good layout, the only problem i had was getting into the spa. As the jets are on permently it is hard to see bottom of the pool and where i thought was a good spot to sit was in fact in some deep water!
Downstairs is the "dungeon", well some nice cruisey corridors and some small playrooms. 1st Floor as some good showers, sauna and some more cruisy areas..the bus stop and the car bonnet seemed a little odd though! The top floor has some more nice playrooms, though non are very big!
The main down points is that it come accross as a little too seedy! It looks a little tired and could do with a bit of a refirb. The times i went it was clean and tidy. As for the other customers, as always it has a wide range of guys so am sure that most people will find 1 (or 2!!) guys they like!
Look forward to some more visits, as it is round the courner from work for me so the odd long lunch might be called for! lol

unclean, outdated facilities

I really cannot understand the previous people who posted such excellent reviews of this sauna. I visited last Sunday 15 February 2009 at 2pm.
Firstly, the place was disgustingly unclean. There were in excess of 20 used condoms discarded in some of the upstairs room, looking as if the room had not been cleaned since the previous day (looked like a busy night's worth of condoms).
Secondly, the staff here are not at all friendly. There is a short, balding Italian guy on reception who makes a habit of trying to make passes at all the younger guys here, and beside that, he endlessly talks on the phone and ignores customers.
Thirdly, the other clientele visiting here were not particularly impressive, generally being older and out of shape and with that curious disposition of not being able to take 'no' as the first and only answer. Thank you to the guy who said he was from New York who approached me in the lockerroom the moment I came in, and pestered me all afternoon despite several polite no's.
Fourthly, the facilities are outdated and in need of repair: the upstairs showers reek of damp and the wooden fittings are rotting. The toilet areas smell terrible. The floorboards creep and there is water dripping from the ceiling.
I would not recommend this sauna to anyone. It has to be one of the most dire saunas I have ever had the misfortune to visit in Europe.
And it seems I was not the only one who had a bad time: I spoke to two other guys who said this place is always like this. I won't be back...

Positive aspects of this sauna (pros):
More intimate and relaxed than the West End
Negative aspects of this sauna (cons):
Slightly emptier than in West End
Pleasant atmosphere with no attitude and clean. Would recommend as an alternative to the "meat market" atmosphere of some saunas.

sometimes not many guys there

Went a couple of weeks ago on a hot sunny day. Sunbathed naked for a while on the terrace before getting cruised by a really hot guy. Ended up having fun on the sun lounger much to the obvious approval of the other naked guys around us. No point going unless the weather is good though otherwise does seem to be always empty Mon-Fri

I phoned first, the very helpful person on the phone, told me, what time they got busy, I tried to be awkward and asked if there was parking nearby, the very helpful person even told me what road to park in! Once I got there I was made to feel welcome straight away, all my questions were answered with a smile. They even have a front end of a Ford Focus to play on! Overall I was very impressed with this sauna, it is very clean, I saw the staff cleaning up and replenishing stocks several times whilst I was there. Well done Chariots at Limehouse, this is how it should be, and yes I did get some great action ;-)
